Steven Kane is a nationally known expert on strategic marketing, consulting and
market research. Previously the National Director of Research at KPMG, his
extensive career has included experience providing strategy, marketing services,
research and business support across a wide range of industries. Key People Peter M. Pattinson, Ph.D. Competitor Intelligence With over 20 years experience in competitor intelligence and strategic marketing, Dr. Pattinson has worked across a broad range of industries, including Professional Services, High-Tech, Financial Services and Health Care, managing competitor intelligence capabilities and leveraging these capabilities within the context of strategic marketing and sales. Prior to joining Baxter Strategies he was Director of Intelligence at Baan, one of Europe’s largest software companies. He also served as Director of Intelligence at BankBoston, and managed intelligence functions at three of the Big Five firms: Andersen Consulting, KPMG and Deloitte & Touche. Ronald C. Tobias In-Depth and Qualitative Research An internationally acclaimed expert in qualitative research Ron Tobias has been widely quoted by the press. Mr. Tobias has more than three decades of experience conducting in-depth interviews and moderating focus groups, which includes senior marketing positions at Merrill Lynch and J. Walter Thompson, as well as account management and new product development positions at major New York City advertising agencies. His client focus, skill, and business acumen ensure that every qualitative study we conduct is effective in meeting our clients needs. Doug Bureman Sports Marketing Doug Bureman has nearly twenty years of professional sports front office experience that includes senior management positions with both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds. He has a Bachelors Degree (Journalism) and Masters Degree (Sports Administration) from Ohio University. As Senior Vice President, Business Operations for the Pirates Mr. Bureman was responsible for the team’s Broadcasting, Finance, Public Relations, Marketing, Stadium Operations, Ticket Sales and Spring Training operations. During his tenure, the Pirates won two divisional championships and set team records for attendance and revenue. Doug began his professional career with the Reds, serving in a number of positions including Public Relations, Season Ticket Sales, Traveling Secretary and Business Manager. During his time with the Reds, the team won five division titles, three National League pennants and two World Series championships while setting team records for both attendance and revenue. Doug brings to Baxter Strategies clients a comprehensive understanding of the business of professional sports and sports marketing, the critical importance of timely, comprehensive consumer information, and a sharp focus on helping professional sports leagues and their teams maximize attendance, viewership, and revenue. Marianne Hussey, MBA Director of Marketing Services A world-class marketing consultant with over 20 years experience as a senior marketing officer for major pharmaceutical, healthcare, and consumer products agencies, Ms. Hussey offers broad experience in all phases of product marketing. She offers particular expertise in the development and execution of brand restages and new product development programs and has proved abilities to create powerful and profitable brands. Mr. Brooks, with three decades of leadership in research field services, brings his total commitment to the highest quality in data collection to every study we conduct. His broad understanding of the research process stems from his experience at top advertising agencies, running major research panels, and field service firms which provide him with the highest level of expertise in all data collection areas, including: technology, field control, training, ethics and research methodologies. Rod MacIver A well known IT expert with a reputation for the design and execution of effective online research programs, database systems, fastidious execution, and on-time performance, Mr. MacIver has over 25 years of frontline experience providing online and Web-panel services, and financial systems development to a wide range of industries throughout the US and Canada. Rod’s past experience includes serving as president of Go-Global Technologies; Webster Internet, a dial-up Internet access company; as well as senior positions in software/application development, network design as well as IT troubleshooting and training. He has been a force in
the development of Internet based database systems and Web surveys since early
1996 and was one of the earliest ColdFusion developers, expertise that he now
brings to all our projects. Rod’s experience spans hundreds of on-line and web
based surveys.
